To commemorate next year’s 25th anniversary of N.HOOLYWOOD, designer Daisuke Obana has released Record of Distress (PARCO Publishing), a book that traces his roots.
In his early 20s, while helping to launch the vintage shop “go-getter,” Obana took nearly 3,000 daily photos of vintage clothes with an instant camera, without a clear purpose or goal. During an era without GPS or car navigation, he also marked sourcing locations late into the night on hand-drawn maps. Over 25 years later, these photos and maps form a valuable record, telling the story of Obana’s journey and proving it was a truly special experience.
This limited edition set includes the book and an original, one-of-a-kind drawstring bag crafted from deconstructed U.S. military parachutes from various eras, each with unique fabric colors and stitching details. A custom mil-spec label, specially made for this release with the founding year of “go-getter” is attached to the center.
